To Tampa: 50-60 minutes on a good day via I-75 North. During rush hour, add 15-20 minutes. If you're commuting to downtown Tampa daily, Lakewood Ranch will wear on you.
To Sarasota: 20-30 minutes south on I-75 or University Parkway. Much more reasonable.
SRQ Airport (Sarasota-Bradenton International): 25 minutes. This airport has expanded significantly — direct flights to major cities. It's a fraction of the hassle of Tampa International.
